Good news trainers! The Water Festival returns to Pokémon GO and will see the official debut of Dewpider, Araquanid, and Lapras wearing a scarf. The wait won’t be too long since the event starts from May 12 until May 20.

In addition to the Pokémon mentioned, trainers can look forward to seeing the Legendary Pokémon Tapu Fini in Raids. Meanwhile, those lucky enough could encounter a Shiny Tapu Fini.

For the festival, the event bonuses are:

  • Rainy Lure Modules activated during the event will last for two hours.
  • 2× Candy from hatching Eggs.
  • Increased Candy XL from hatching Eggs.

Global Challenge

One interesting thing about the Water Festival is the Global Challenge happening throughout the event. The challenge starts May 11 and ends May 21. In this event, trainers need to work with others to catch a wave of Water-type Pokémon. Trainers collectively need to catch 600,000,000 Water-type Pokémon during the challenge.
