Pokémon Go Launching Special Halloween Event For Latin American Trainers

Over the past weeks, Pokémon Go announced a few special weekend events. However, this has been mainly limited to Trainers in the US. Well, it looks like we’re moving south as Pokémon Go is celebrating Day of the Dead through a special event for Trainers that are in Latin America. The event starts on November 1 at 10:00 AM and ends on November 2 at 11:59 PM, local time.

Day of the Dead is a holiday that’s observed in Mexico and other parts of the Americas. It celebrates the lives and the memory of family and friends who are no longer with us. In Mexican tradition it is said that during this special time the spirits of the deceased go back to the world of the living in order to share this joyful celebration with their loved ones.

During this event, Trainers can expect these features:

  • Pokémon representing the different elements of the Day of the Dead are going to appear in the wild more frequently:
    • Cubone
    • Sunflora
    • Roselia
    • Cacnea
    • Duskull
    • Litwick
  • These Pokémon are going to be attracted more frequently to Incense:
    • Gastly
    • Misdreavus
    • Absol
    • Shuppet
    • Duskull
    • Drifloon
    • Litwick
  • Trainers that complete exclusive Field Research tasks get to encounter Pokémon like:
    • Marowak
    • Alolan
    • Marowak
    • Murkrow
    • Duskull
  • When sharing Pan de Muerto with friends and family, don’t forget to battle together. Poffins are going to be available as rewards from Go Battle League rewards tracks.
  • The shop is going to have a special box featuring:
    • Incense
    • Poffins
    • Star Pieces
    • Remote Raid Passes
  • Take a few snapshots for a surprise.

Special Weekend Events

There’s two Special Weekend events happening that are exclusive for Trainers in the US. The first is happening this Sunday, October 25 from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM, local time. This is made possible through a partnership with Grubhub. This one is a Timed Research event where Trainers can earn three Incense, a Star Piece, and 100 Charizard Mega Energy.
