For those who have been waiting for an update on the Pokémon Go and Pokémon Home integration, there’s some good news. Turns out the wait isn’t going to be that long since this is going to happen later this year.

Pokémon Home, for those not familiar, is a cloud service for the Nintendo Switch as well as other compatible mobile devices. In a nutshell, it’s a place where all Pokémon can gather. Once the link is live, it means players should be able to transfer Pokémon between Pokémon Go and Pokémon Sword and Shield.

In addition, once the integration goes live there are going to be limited-time events in Pokémon Go that features specific Pokémon. Trainers should also be able to activate a Mystery Box after to send a Pokémon from Pokémon Go to Pokémon Home. Those who open the box during the celebration event may even get the chance to encounter a Shiny Meltan.

Additional details about this integration are going to be released in the coming days.

Updates to Temporary Bonuses

The onset of the pandemic has resulted in the changing of the global environment and this in turn resulted in Pokémon Go making temporary changes to adapt to the situation. Considering what is still happening around the world, some of these changes are going to continue for the foreseeable future. These include, among others, being able to raid remotely and having increased distance to spin Photo Discs at Gyms and PokéStops.

With that in mind, these temporary bonuses are going to remain in order to improve the overall gameplay experience:

  • The maximum number of Gifts that can be carried in the Item Bag at a time remains at 20.
  • Trainers can continue to get three times the Stardust and XP for their first Pokémon catch of the day.
  • Incense duration remains at 60 minutes.

It’s also important to note that people have been encouraged to spend time outside, like going for walks, in order to exercise both physical and mental health. Thus, beginning tomorrow, October 1, these temporary bonuses have are being modified:

  • Hatch distance returns to normal for Eggs.
  • Increased effectiveness of Incense now apply only while walking.
  • A Trainer’s Buddy Pokémon now brings Gifts only when the trainer is about to run out.
    • This is going to happen once a day.
  • There is no guarantee that Trainers can get a Gift when spinning a PokéStop but the chance remains high.

Finally, Incubators are going to be included in more boxes in the in-game shop.
