Request a PokeStop or Gym near you!
Request a PokeStop or Gym near you! Pokemon Go / Niantic

Pokémon Go now allows users to request new PokeStops and gyms near them. If you live outside of a big city, it can be pretty difficult to play Pokémon Go . You’ll likely have to drive to the nearest PokeStop, which in my case is usually a gas station. It would be great if to have a PokeStop in my residential community's clubhouse, so I can walk around my neighborhood as the game is intended to be played.

Signing up is simple. You submit a request on Niantic’s official Pokémon Go website using this form here . It’ll ask you the the name of the PokeStop, coordinates, address and reason behind the request.

Hopefully Niantic will release an option to remove PokeStops and gyms as well. There have also been requests from police to respect graveyard hours and allow people to mourn without disturbance. The 9/11 Memorial and Holocaust Museum are also among PokeStops people would like to see removed from the game.

Andrew Hollinger, the Holocaust Museum's communications director, recently told The Washington Post playing Pokémon Go is disrespectful to the memorial and players should refrain from using the app inside.

"Playing the game is not appropriate in the museum, which is a memorial to the victims of Nazism," Hollinger told The Post . "We are trying to find out if we can get the museum excluded from the game."
