It's already December and that means we're going to have the last Community Day for 2022 in Pokémon GO. The good news is that it's happening for two days from December 17 to December 18.
During the event, Pokémon featured in Community Day events in 2022 appear more frequently in the wild and in Timed Research. Meanwhile, Pokémon featured in Community Day events throughout 2021 are going to hatch from Eggs and appear in Raids and in Timed Research.
Event Bonuses
What can trainers expect in this month's Community Day? Let's start with the bonuses:
- 2× XP for catching Pokémon.
- 2× Stardust for catching Pokémon.
- 1/2 Hatch Distance when Eggs are placed into Incubators during the event period.
- 2× Candy for catching Pokémon.
- 2× chance for Trainers level 31 and up to receive XL Candy from catching Pokemon.
- Lure Modules activated during the event lasts for three hours.
- Incense (excluding Daily Adventure Incense) activated during the event lasts for three hours.
Now, here's the thing about these bonuses mentioned: they are only active between 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. (local time) on both dates. However, these two bonuses are active from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. (local time):
- One additional Special Trade can be made, for a maximum of two per day.
- Trades made during the event require 50% less Stardust.

Special Research Story
For December Community Day 2022, there’s a new Special Research story available to all trainers, but it’s not free and trainers must have a ticket worth $1 to access it. Those who don’t want to take it on themselves can buy and gift tickets to any of their friends. The catch is that they should have achieved at least a Friendship level of Great Friends.
