There have been many rumors about Altus and Sega releasing a new mainline installment to continue the franchise in the form of "Persona 6," but this remains unconfirmed by the studios.
It is already expected that 2026 will be a special year for the franchise as the last mainline game of the series, "Persona 5," was released in 2016, marking its tenth year this year.
Over the years, the franchise saw spinoffs or collaborations, such as the likes of "Persona 5 Royal," "Persona 5 Strikers," and "Persona 5 Tactica."
Sega, Altus Tease Next 'Persona' Game Before Unveiling
According to ComicBook Gaming, part of the reason why fans have not yet given up on Sega and Altus' development of the sixth mainline game in the "Persona" franchise is that the studios did not shy away from the possibility of their next game.
That said, Altus has not formally talked about or confirmed anything about the next game, including if it would be called "Persona 6," but speculations claim that this may very well be the successor game's title.
Based on the website's information, the upcoming 30th Anniversary celebration will unveil the next chapter in the series, and it is expected to potentially share details about the sequel.
However, at this point, it remains unclear if Altus and Sega will only talk about the next game to succeed "Persona 5" or if there is a game already available to release.
Should Altus and Sega come up with "Persona 6," it could be right on time with the franchise's 30th anniversary and be the fitting piece to celebrate its decades-long popularity in the industry.
For now, the world will have to wait and see what Altus and Sega have in store for the "Personal 30th Anniversary" event.
