It was early this month when we were treated to a story trailer for One Piece Odyssey. It focused on the Alabasta Kingdom and what the Straw Hat Crew is currently up to. This time, Bandai Namco Entertainment America released a new trailer that not only reveals more moments from the Alabasta Kingdom but also what players can expect from the game.

You can watch the gameplay trailer below:

One Piece Odyssey sees the Straw Hat Crew transported to a mysterious new island where they take on various challenges that connect the “past” and the “present.” Along the way, they go against powerful enemies and massive bosses through turn-based battles. The game takes players on an adventure to a world that introduces an original story and new characters developed under the guidance of One Piece creator Eiichiro Oda.

In the game, players explore both new and familiar environments, all richly detailed and authentic to the visual style of One Piece. The game offers players classic and exciting turn-based battles that incorporate the traits of One Piece by allowing them to swap between their favorite Straw Hat Crew members. Each member of the crew has unique abilities that let players take on powerful enemies and massive bosses.

During battles, players can use different attacks and items, as well as type-matching with different characters and skills to take advantage of enemy weaknesses. The battles feature a unique mechanic where players can overcome situations typical in ONE PIECE known Dramatic Scenes. These happen upon meeting specific combat conditions and boost player progression allowing the Straw Hat Crew to earn increased experience for completing tasks.

Aside from the main storyline, players can also have fun discovering hidden side stories, along with Bounty Hunts where Luffy goes against dangerous enemy pirates.

One Piece Odyssey will launch January 13, 2023 on PC through Steam, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. Pre-order of the game is now available. In addition to the Standard Edition, players can also get the Digital Deluxe Edition, which has the main game, the Adventure Expansion Pack, Adventure Expansion Pack Bonus 100,000 Berries, and Deluxe Edition Bonus: Sniper King Outfit Set.
