Nioh 2 might be a great game, however, its PC port definitely isn’t. Well, things have been changing slowly but surely. The developer is improving the game with constant updates and patches and one of those updates was released yesterday, and it brought several improvements to the game.

The PC version finally has keyboard and mouse prompts instead of the default for controllers. The game's performance is now better, especially when the "Effect Quality" is set on "High." Shadows are now enabled in cutscenes even if they are turned off in the game's settings. One big optimization is allowing players to choose the 1366x768 resolution for their monitor with a max resolution of 1360x768. The update also fixed a bug related to fog brightness.

Function addition

  • Supports keyboard and mouse button icon display. You can switch between "System" > "Keyboard and mouse settings" > "Icon display."

Bug fixes

  • Fixed a bug that when "Maximum FPS" is 120, a specific enemy's "Great Skill" may not be returned by "Special Skill."
  • Further improved the problem where the frame rate tends to decrease when "Effect quality" is set to "High" in "Graphics settings."
  • Changed to enable shadows in cutscenes even when "Shadow" in "Graphics settings" is "Disabled."
  • Fixed a bug where fog on stage could look brighter than expected.
  • Fixed an issue so that the screen resolution 1366x768 can be selected in the environment where the desktop resolution is 1360x768.
  • Changed the contents that can be set in "Keyboard and mouse settings" > "Key config" regarding camera operation with the mouse in "Photo mode."
  • Fixed a bug where some of the effects of the cutscene "Invitation to the Genpei War" were not displayed.
  • Fixed a face display bug for the copy "Dragon Ninja."
  • Fixed not to include the window menu in the image data copied to the clipboard when posting on Twitter with appearance settings.
  • Fixed other minor bugs.

The complete patch notes are mentioned on the official site. Keep in mind that they are not in English.
