"Cyberpunk 2077" fans didn't expect the game to get an official " Cyberpunk Trading Card Game." No one imagined how this would get started, but CD Projekt Red and WeirdCo were able to make it happen on Kickstarter.
Launched Tuesday at 12 p.m. EDT, the project surpassed its $100,000 goal in just five minutes. By the end of day one, it had raised over $8.3 million from more than 10,000 backers, making it the most-funded trading card game in Kickstarter history, with 30 days still left in the campaign.
Stretch Goals Unlocked in Minutes
Early backers immediately unlocked nearly all stretch goals, including extra booster packs and a promotional "Legend" card featuring V: Corporate Exile. As funding surged, supporters gained access to expanded card pools, character variants from "Cyberpunk 2077" and the Netflix animated series and upgraded beta boxes with guaranteed rare cards.
At the $10 million milestone, every beta box could even include an additional Legend pack.
Elliot Cook, co-founder of WeirdCo, told Polygon.
"Becoming the largest TCG in crowdfunding history in under 12 hours is a massive signal; our chooms are ready to build something truly special with WeirdCo."
Cook didn't see it coming, but praised CD Projekt Red as their "dream partner." He also acknowledged the support from fans globally.
Reward Waves and Delivery
Backers on Kickstarter can expect their rewards in two waves. Wave one, arriving in Q3 2026, will include starter decks, beta booster displays, and related add-ons via express shipping. Wave two, scheduled for Q4 2026, will deliver remaining products through standard shipping.
New Competitive Card Game Experience
First announced in December 2025, the "Cyberpunk TCG" brings the universe of "Cyberpunk 2077" to a competitive card game format. Players can build crews, equip gear, and complete gigs, featuring strategic card gameplay with familiar characters and settings.
If you're a fan of TCGs, give this one a shot. You will be surprised by its mechanics and card designs.
