It's easy for some gamers to already dismiss the Nintendo Switch even though specs and pricing for the console-handheld hybrid won't be officially announced until the highly anticipated Nintendo Switch Presentation 2017, which will be held on Jan. 12. Early speculation already suggests the Switch is no where near as powerful as the current PS4 and Xbox One, let alone the 4K-ready PS4 Pro and Xbox One S.

However, NVIDIA CEO Jen-Hsun Huang believes there's more to the Nintendo Switch than meets the eye. Via Nintendo-Insider, CEO Huang shared some insight about the Switch console following the unveiling of his NVIDIA Shield entertainment platform at CES 2017.

“Nintendo Switch is a game console. It’s very Nintendo. That entire experience is going to be very Nintendo,” Huang said.

“The beauty of that company, the craft of that company, the philosophy of that company – they’re myopically, singularly focused on making sure that the gaming experience is amazing, surprising, and safe for young people, for children. Their dedication to their craft, that singular dedication, is quite admirable. When you guys all see Switch, I believe people are going to be blown away, quite frankly. It’s really delightful.”

Instead of fighting the likes of PlayStation 4 and Xbox One head-on with processing power and capability, Nintendo is betting on the creativity of its team to create a product that simply delivers joy to its young users.

We look forward to learning more about the Nintendo Switch during its 2-part presentation on Jan. 12 and Jan. 13. Click here to check out how to watch the Nintendo Switch Presentation 2017 via Live Stream online.
