Nintendo recently held a Direct event dedicated to a game called "Star Fox," but an insider is now claiming that another Nintendo Direct showcase is slated to take place very, very soon.

New Nintendo Direct Leak Unveils Next Show Date

In the latest episode of "Last of the Nintendogs," Giant Bomb's Jeff Grubb claimed that the next Nintendo Direct presentation will take place either on Tuesday, June 9, or Wednesday, June 10, saying that the date will depend on the time zone.

It was also Grubb who previously said that a Nintendo Direct event will take place in mid-June, with this latest claim narrowing down to a more specific timeline.

According to the report from GameRant, Nintendo's upcoming summer event will happen alongside massive showcases that are also slated for the season, including PlayStation's State of Play that took place last June 2, and the Xbox Games Showcase set for June 7.

The report stated that if this June 9 date is accurate, Nintendo would share an official announcement that confirms the date only several days before. However, the company is also known for its surprise Direct events in the past.

What to Expect at the New Nintendo Direct Event

Grubb went on to say that he expects the presentation to be a "general Direct" event as opposed to a partner showcase. This means that Nintendo will focus more on its latest developments, centering on new first-party games, updates for the Switch 2, and possible accessories instead of featuring third-party developments.

In the past, general Direct events brought more information from Nintendo and covered a wide range of titles, including third-party releases as well, instead of focusing on only one title or franchise.

That said, Nintendo's plans for the remaining months of 2026 remain vague as the company has yet to talk about what it has in store.

The only other game confirmed for later in the year is "Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave," which has yet to receive its official release date, and this next Direct event may share more information about it.

Alongside this, there are speculations about a remake of "The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time" rumored for later this year, but no further information has been shared, as per GameRant.

The last Direct event from Nintendo took place during early May, and it announced "Star Fox" for Switch 2 which came as a surprise to fans as it was only announced minutes before it aired.
