Nintendo is one of the last companies that made a presentation at E3 2021, but as they say, you save the best for last. The video game company made huge announcements, including some surprising reveals, among others.

Here are some of the highlights:

Metroid Dread

A lot of fans were hoping for new information about Metroid Prime 4 and although the game was mentioned, fans were treated with something else, which is also from the same franchise.

It seems that the Metroid series is going back to its roots as people can expect to play the 2D side-scrolling shooter, Metroid Dread, on October 8.

The trailer shows glimpses of what you can expect and the graphics are vastly improved from the previous installments.

Kazuya Joins the Fray

The Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is one of the company’s most popular games and many characters from other fighting game franchises have been incorporated into the mix, such as Terry Bogard from Fatal Fury and Ryu from Street Fighter.

Well, a fan-favorite from the Tekken series, Kazuya, will also be joining the tournament in the future. Although the company didn’t mention when the said character will be added to the game, a fighter showcase will happen on June 26.

Shin Megami Tensei 5

Turn-based RPG Shin Megami Tensei 5 will be coming to Switch on November 12. Players can make physical preorders starting June 21.

In this new installment, play as a high school student who must use their newfound powers to fight demons. While most demons are hostile, some can be allies and be recruited.

Fighting these hostile demons involves a command-based system, which can help highlight your enemies' weaknesses. Discovering these weaknesses will lead you to powerful combos.

The Sequel to Breath of the Wild

Another one of the company’s staples, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is a popular hit among fans. An unnamed sequel has also been teased during the E3 presentation and you can watch its short trailer below.

Hyrule Warriors Expansion Pass

Nintendo announced that Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity will have two DLC this year - one of which will be introduced on June 18.

The upcoming DLC is called Pulse of the Ancients and there are a lot of things to be excited about. The second DLC will arrive sometime in November. Both DLCs can be yours if you get the expansion pass for $20.
