Believe it or not, we may now have an idea of Death Stranding 2’s release date, thanks to a new leak!

Hideo Kojima’s follow-up game Death Stranding 2 or DS2 is reportedly slated for release sometime in 2024. The reveal came to light courtesy of a leak from an employee working on the upcoming sequel.

The employee in question is none other than Frank Aliberti, a senior artist working at PlayStation Studios Visual Art. He accidentally revealed the release window for Kojima’s game. According to Aliberti’s ArtStation page, Death Stranding 2 is arriving in 2024. This information has since been removed from the senior artist’s ArtStation website, but the internet, as always, was quick to capture screenshots. One could also argue that the removal may very well prove that the leaked release window is somehow true.

The screenshot basically shows three games, the first one being Death Stranding 2. Fragile, played by Lea Seydoux, can be seen cradling a baby close to herself, with a red background lighting. The letters PS5 are also written on top of the title, with the year “2024” written just below it.

While Death Stranding 2 could be released in 2024, it is still unofficial and Kojima Productions and PlayStation have yet to confirm it. So, in one way or another, the release date might change; even the name of the game is still considered a working title. In other words, there is a huge possibility that it will be changed later on.

A teaser trailer for Death Stranding 2 was first shown at The Game Awards and features Fragile interacting with a newborn at the very start of the clip. She can then be seen fleeing from what seems to be an impending assault.

The trailer is packed with various cinematic visuals the first game is also known for and familiar to fans of Hideo Kojima. An old Sam Bridges, played by Norman Reedus, appears together with Fragile. The trailer also shows a new organization logo along with writings that say, “Drawbridge: Both stick and rope, to Protect and connect. Together. For Tomorrow.” You can watch the Death Stranding 2 reveal trailer below.
