The latest update for Nintendo’s ARMS is rolling out and brings some changes to the overall game, as well as balancing some fighters. But with the new update, Nintendo also announced that in the next “big” update a new fighter will arrive along with its own arms and stage.

In a tweet from the Japanese ARMS account, the latest update (version 2.1) will be small game balances but that the next update will be a “major update” that includes the aforementioned new fighter.

This update comes only days after a datamine of the game found internal names for up to nine fighters. Some of the names include Chain, Plant, Robo and Coil. Nintendo will release information on this mysterious new fighter in the days leading up to the next update.

As for the current update, most of the changes affect the UI along with tweaks to the Training mode and how stages are viewed in the selection process. There are also numerous balance changes for the fighters, too.

Here’s the entire patch notes for ARMS version 2.1 and let us know if you’re excited for a brand new ARMS character in the comments section below.

  • Moved “Training” to the top menu.
  • Added five exercises to “Training”, and added difficulty level indications.
  • Adjusted the way the rush gauge fills, decreasing the amount gained for punches that do not connect with the opponent.
  • When 3-4 players start a battle, instructions on how to switch targets will now be displayed. A cursor will also be displayed above the current target for a set time.
