2K released its twelfth patch for NBA 2K17 this week. The patch, which was touted by 2K as an update that was done with much fan feedback, addresses many gameplay issues that still linger in the game.

One of the biggest improvements to come from the Patch 1.12 is the fixing of double team logic. Many times in NBA 2K17, double teams create easy baskets for the CPU and users. What happens is a double team is called, which leaves a player open somewhere on the floor. The problem comes when the defensive rotation to the open player never happens, which leaves the open player unguarded with no one coming over to guard him. Everyone stays where they are and that player is able to take an uncontested jumper or cut to the basket for an easy high percentage shot.

NBA 2K17 developer Da Czar released an explanation of the patch and explained that while double teams will work better, it will not be a sure thing.

“Just remember the offense will make timely cuts that are designed to make it very difficult for the defense to remain in such a strong base vs. a double team. An offense in constant movement is much more difficult to stop.”

Another issue that was fixed was the incessant bumping that constantly occurs in NBA 2K17. Between random offensive foul calls and odd bumping that slows down offensive play, this was something that everyone had issues with. The fix should help with the game offensively as chained together dribble moves should not be stopped by the AI, who would just stand in your way and create a bumping situation for no reason.

The full patch notes are below, including a change to MyGM/MyLeague that may seem small but could affect your team in your franchise.
