Monster Hunter World: Iceborne recently released its Raccoon City collaboration. If you think that's all the fun and games Monster Hunter World has prepared then get ready for this. The Horizon Zero Dawn: The Frozen Wilds collaboration is set to arrive on November 21. That said, this content is available exclusively for PlayStation 4 players.
Fans of Horizon Zero Dawn know that the Frozen Wilds expansion brought Aloy to The Cut. For this collaboration, however, Aloy arrives to the frozen wilds of Hoarfrost Reach. This marks the beginning of an exclusive Horizon Zero Dawn: The Frozen Wilds collaboration accessible to hunters who are at least Master Rank 24. Players at this level, or above, get a chance to craft a Light Bowgun based on Aloy’s Stormslinger Prototype. Those who are able to access and complete the collaboration quest are rewarded with special materials used to craft the Horizon Zero Dawn: The Frozen Wilds equipment. In addition, hunters also get to receive a Pendant designed as Aloy’s Focus that they can attach to their favorite weapon upon completing this special quest.
As mentioned, this is merely the beginning as additional rounds of the exclusive Horizon Zero Dawn: The Frozen Wilds collaboration are going to be released in December. There's going to be more free content featuring new event quests and themed gear for players to craft. Hunters are going to be able to build a full armor set fashioned after the Shield-Weaver armor in Horizon Zero Dawn and embark on new event quests to upgrade the Stormslinger weapon from the first round of quests in November.
Monster Hunter: Iceborne is available for the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One. A version for the PC will be released on January 9, 2020. The Monster Hunter World base game is needed to play Iceborne and hunters need to have completed the main story in Monster Hunter World up to Hunter Rank 16 in order to access the new Iceborne story and quests.
The Iceborne expansion is available as digital DLC for $39.99. A Digital Deluxe version including both the expansion and a Monster Hunter World: Iceborne Deluxe Kit DLC of cosmetic items is available for $49.99. For the newcomers on console, a Monster Hunter World: Iceborne Master Edition containing both the main game and the Iceborne expansion is available either digitally or at participating retailers for $59.99.
