New content is coming to Minecraft: Gear VR Edition , Pocket Edition and Windows 10 Edition , Mojang announced during Minecon 2016 , and those desperate to see a few boss encounters in the mobile builds of Minecraft are finally in luck. The Boss Update is coming to Pocket Edition , and its compatriots, in a matter of weeks.

Minecraft fans are well aware that feature parity has never really existed in the sandbox game’s sprawling ecosystem. With ports on just about every modern tech device under the sun, except for the Nintendo 3DS, it’s no surprise there are some features in the Java and console Minecraft builds that haven’t migrated to Pocket Edition , Windows 10 Edition , etc. But we’ll get a bit closer when The Boss Update hits PE , Win10 and Gear VR Edition in mid-October, bringing the Wither and the Elder Guardian to the smallest versions of Minecraft .

New bosses won’t be the only big addition to Minecraft: Pocket Edition . The next patch for the mobile versions of the game will also deliver the Underwater Temples introduce last year and an Add-On system that lets users alter their favorite Minecraft worlds by modifying text files. User creations will be shareable and Microsoft is planning to release the Alien Invasion and Castle Siege stages shown at E3 this year to give players early examples of what they can accomplish. The update will also expand controller support for Windows 10 Edition, giving players the option to use a bluetooth Xbox controller or the Oculus Touch (once available at retail).

The Boss Update heads to Minecraft: Gear VR Edition , Minecraft: Pocket Edition and Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition on Oct. 18.
