The touted next massive open-world sci-fi action in the gaming industry, "MindsEye," is not exactly faring well and bringing its revolutionary experiences for gamers as it is now receiving mostly negative reviews on Steam. This game is known to be the brainchild of former Rockstar North executive, Leslie Benzies, who after being axed by the company, formed a new company and created this game.

Benzies previously touted that "MindsEye" brings a taste of some of the best action RPG games in the market including "Grand Theft Auto" and "Cyberpunk 2077," with this game incorporating the best from both titles.

'MindsEye' Gets Mostly Negative Reviews on Steam

"MindsEye" is not seeing what it expects after its release, particularly as according to ComicBook Gaming, the game is being swamped by negative reviews on Steam from players who were unsatisfied with the experience. Initially, the game did not reveal any extensive gameplay content during its promotional campaigns, but it did face early negative reviews from content creators.

Now, players who bought the game and tried it out for themselves also noticed the same thing as early access users, and that the game is not living up to its hype and has fallen short of expectations. Initial reviews of the game featured sponsored publications and game reviewers so it pushed a positive narrative about its experiences leading up to its launch and early availability.

Because of this, players had to purchase the game and jump into the experience before they got a view of what it had to offer, only to be met with the game's poor performance and buggy gameplay. Players noted that it had various problems running on PC, and generally, the experience is not good for those who were able to purchase a copy early on.

Those players who shared reviews on Steam are now claiming that others should avoid this game at all costs, saying that it is not worth it and it would only frustrate them because of its many underlying problems.

Is 'MindsEye' Really That Bad?

Players may check out the reviews on Steam's landing page for "MindsEye" and see for themselves what others are saying about the sci-fi action RPG title from Build A Rocket Boy. These reviews flooded Steam hours after its PC release this June 10, and many are advising others to steer clear from this game to avoid wasting their money on such a flawed release.

ComicBook Gaming reported that initially, Build A Rocket Boy claimed that the previous negative reviews on "MindsEye" during its pre-release period were from bots or were paid to leave bad assessments on platforms. However, this may no longer be the case now as more and more gamers are now attesting to the many issues and problems they found with the AAA-rated title.

There may still be a chance to save "MindsEye," particularly as this was also the same problem that CD Projekt Red faced with "Cyberpunk 2077's" first release, but the company persevered through patches and its renowned "Phantom Liberty" DLC.
