Madden NFL 21 is all set to introduce a new mode known as The Yard. This latest addition to the game is sure to give players of all kinds a new experience. In this new feature, players have the chance to come up with a customized and one-of-a-kind avatar to outfit in gear. This mode also allows players to pull off game-changing trick plays along with being able to execute wild gameplay moments.
This new feature is actually already available in the recently released Madden NFL 21 Mobile. For the mobile version, it’s known as The Yard: Underground and players can start to earn big rewards by simply going through a single-player narrative journey with 5-on-5 football gameplay.
However, when this feature is launched for the PC and console versions of Madden 21, The Yard is going to focus mainly on 6-on-6 backyard-inspired football. Players can choose to play solo or online with either co-op vs. CPU or head-to-head multiplayer in teams of one, two, or three.
While the gameplay in The Yard and The Yard: Underground are different, the goals remain the same. Players can also connect their accounts and access their unique avatars, in-game currency, gear, and even Madden Rank through a shared inventory system.
Overall in The Yard, the all-new gameplay goes into full effect after the snap. New animations help players lead to those momentum-shifting moments. Through the Gillette Style Zone, players can customize their avatar and express their individuality. Players can also visit the Gear Store and give their avatar fresh looks. There’s also going to be exclusive new gear drops.
In a press release, Madden NFL 21 Executive Producer Seann Graddy shared that they wanted to offer “a new way for player to express themselves” while also being able to play “an arcade-style experience that’s completely new to Madden.” Players can expect this new mode to be thrilling, fast, and, of course, fun. He went on to say that players get to go through “all new gameplay on mobile and on consoles that will bring to life the backyard football that NFL players and fans grew up loving, where the rules are relaxed, and you can win with attitude.”
Madden NFL 21 is set to be launched worldwide on August 28 for the PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. A version for Google Stadia is planned to be released this winter. Meanwhile, Madden NFL 21 Mobile is already available on both Google Play and the iOS App Store.
