The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was one of the best games of 2017. It received an overwhelmingly positive response from both fans and critics, and even won several game of the year awards. Breath of the Wild is a must-have title for Switch owners. However, it has been three years and fans have been waiting for a sequel. The development of the sequel was confirmed last year, but no details were provided.

Eiji Aonuma, a producer on the Legend of Zelda Series, recently said in the announcement trailer for Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity that fans will have to wait a little longer for updates about the Breath of the Wild sequel. He thanked fans for playing the original game and assured that they are developing a world that will be more impressive.

“Many people around the world are still playing Breath of the Wild, so I'd like to thank you all from the bottom of my heart. Everyone, thank you so much," Aonuma said in the video. "Regarding the sequel, in order to make the vast world you enjoyed exploring in the original game even more impressive, the team is working hard on its development, so you'll have to wait a bit longer before we can provide more updates.”

The trailer also showed off the spin-off game developed by KOEI Tecmo Games. Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity is a prequel game set 100 years before Breath of the Wild. You can watch the trailer above.

Age of Calamity will let you control many iconic characters like Zelda, Link, and several Hyrule champions. Your objective is to fight against the enemies that were released by Calamity Ganon. The game will launch on November 20 exclusively for Nintendo Switch.

So what do you think? Are you excited about the Breath of the Wild sequel? Did you enjoy the original game? Are you excited for the Age of Calamity spin-off, or would you prefer a full-blown prequel instead? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
