Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity is all set to be launched exclusively for the Nintendo Switch this November 20. In the game, players are transported to a time before the Great Calamity and take part in epic battles. What is the Great Calamity, you ask? Well, it was a large event that happened a century before Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

This means players get to meet recognizable characters like Link and Zelda. Then there are the other characters like the four Champions, who are going to be playable for the first time, especially in the Hyrule Warriors series.

The gameplay of Age of Calamity is going to be familiar to fans not only of the Hyrule Warriors games, but also those of the Fire Emblem Warriors games. Age of Calamity is all about performing combos along with some over-the-top special abilities. The game is fast-paced and offers tons of action and strategy. This is good for those who want a non-stop action game that’s not only intense, but has ties to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. It’s not all action though, as there is also a strong story that looks into the events, relationships, and dramatic moments of the Great Calamity. Players also need to solve environmental puzzle and unlock weapons and skills.

In a press statement, Nick Chavez of Nintendo of America shared that the game is a must-play, especially for those who are fans of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. That said, he added, it’s time to “roll up your blue tunic sleeves and get ready for a dramatic and surprising adventure through Hyrulean history this holiday season.”

Pre-orders for Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity are already available, though this is limited to the Digital version for now. Pre-orders are offered at $49.99, which comes with the Lucky Ladle as a pre-order bonus. This is a weapon that Link can use in the game and paired with a Pot Lid. This can even be fused with other weapons in order to give stat boosts.
