League of Legends: Wild Rift Huge Changes for Olaf and Renekton in Latest Update

League of Legends: Wild Rift just received Patch 4.2 not long ago which featured a ton of champion balancing changes.

Wild Rift's resident croc, Renekton, only had one change in Patch 4.2 but it's actually significant. His Ruthless Predator ability now clears all shields on the target if under the effect of Red Fury. This tweak enables Renekton to easily shred his enemies to smithereens.

Olaf got a mini rework in this update as well. The developers want to increase his survivability and make him stronger as the match progresses. As a result, his Berserker Rage passive now allows him to gain up to 60-100% (based on level) attack speed and 10% to 25% (based on level) physical vamp based on missing health, maxing out at 70% missing health.

Olaf's other skills also got rebalanced to account for those adjustments. Here are the changes:

  • Vicious Strikes
    • Cooldown: 16s > 15/14/13/12s
    • Bonus attack speed: 50/65/85/90% > 35/50/65/80%
    • Attack speed time: 6s > 4s
    • No longer gains physical vamp and healing boost.
    • Gain shield: 30/60/90/120 + 17.5% of lost health, max effect at 70% of lost health
    • Shield time: 2.5s
  • Reckless Swing
    • Damage factor to wild monsters: 50% > 80%
  • Ragnarok
    • Passive double resistance increase: 20/30/40 > 10/20/30
    • Active attack boost: 30/40/50 + 30% Attack Damage > 10/20/30 + 25% Attack Damage
    • Duration: 6s > 3s
    • [NEW]: Releasing 3 skills and basic attacks on enemy champions can extend the duration to 2.5s.
    • [UPDATED]: Passive dual resistance is no longer removed when the active effect is released.

Aside from Renekton and Olaf, the Wild Rift dev team has adjusted some marksmen with the goal of improving their survivability. Here's a list of the affected champions:

Ashe

  • Base stats
    • Attack range: 600 > 625
    • Base attack speed: 20% > 30%
    • Attack speed per level: 2.2% > 3.2%

Caitlyn

  • Base stats
    • Attack range: 650 > 675
    • Base Attack speed: 20% > 30%
    • Attack speed per level: 2.2% > 3.2%
    • Attack Damage per level: 3.6 > 4

Corki

  • Base stats
    • Attack range: 550 > 575

Graves

  • New Destiny
    • Non-critical strike: 4 Bullets > 4 Bullets (unchanged)
    • Critical strike: 6 Bullets, 130% damage each > 6 Bullets, 120% damage each
    • Critical strike with Infinity Blade: 6 Bullets, 140% damage each > 6 Bullets, 130% damage each

Draven

  • Base stats
    • Attack range: 550 > 575
    • Base attack speed: 20% > 30%
    • Attack speed per level: 2.2% > 3.2%
    • Attack Damage per level: 3.6 > 4
