It's also not a 'sex' game, but you should prepare to get 'fucked' either way.

The developer of the split-screen co-op title A Way Out, Hazelight Studios, is currently working on a new title. Nothing has been confirmed yet, but studio head Josef Fares has guaranteed that it won’t be a sequel to the brothers’ criminal adventures. It should still be familiar to those who played A Way Out and their earlier title Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons as it will retain story elements from both titles.

During an interview with VG247 in GameLab Barcelona, Fares provided both as little and as much as he can about the studio's upcoming title. It feels like it’s still going to be a story-driven multiplayer experience with Fares saying that players will be getting (don’t shoot the messenger) metaphorically “fucked” by elaborate mechanics every 30 minutes.

“What I can say is it’s not A Way Out 2. But if you look at Brothers, A Way Out, and the next game, you will see it’s the same studio that makes the game.” Fares said in the interview. “But it will be something completely, totally different and it will be way more focused on trying to make the mechanics a part of the game. […] I believe there’s a lot of potential in telling great stories for more than one person. If you look at the movies today, when we look at them we look at them together, we experience stories together. I believe that multiplayer story games are underestimated – there’s a lot of potential there that I’d like to explore.”

“The next game is going to be an insane game mechanically. It’s going to be, oh my god, there’s so much mechanics – it’s impossible to get tired of it,” Fares continued. He then added, rather colorfully, “You will be like ‘What the fuck? What, what, what?’ It’s going to be like that. You’re going to get fucked every 30 minutes. It’s not a sex game but you’re going to get fucked, trust me.”

Fares isn’t exactly known for his reserved behavior and tactful, smooth talk (case in point, check out his appearance at The Game Awards 2017). But all his talk regarding this upcoming title makes it obvious that they took all the feedback, positive and negative, from A Way Out and are planning on delivering a much more polished title in the future.
