The newest DLC for Immortals Fenyx Rising is finally here. This is the first of three planned DLCs arriving for the game. Titled “A New God,” it takes place after the main campaign with the action shifting to the place that Greek gods call home.

In particular, Fenyx has been invited to become a god but needs to complete a series of tests. The tests take the form of puzzle- and monster-filled vaults, all designed by none other than the gods themselves.

The Vaults

The different vaults in this DLC are similar to Tartaros Vaults of the main game. What this means is that they’re going to offer combat arenas and environmental puzzles through the linear levels. The difference from the main game's vaults is that the challenges are bigger, more complex, and trickier. Players can expect some new puzzle elements for them to master.

Four Gods

The Vaults that players tackle are courtesy of these four gods: Ares, Aphrodite, Hephaistos, and Athena. They’re offering trials and each time players finish them, they get awarded with one of four new ability upgrades. This is important because these abilities are going to play a significant part in later puzzles. The abilities include:

  • Athena augmenting Athena’s Dash with the Immortal Field Breaker.
    • This lets Fenyx smash through red barriers.
  • Ares adds the Wind Gust to Ares’ Wrath.
    • This allows players to generate a pillar of wind which can lift them up higher or activate wind-powered mechanisms.
  • Hephaistos grants Colossal Strength.
    • Allows Fenyx to lift huge objects with Herakles’ Strength.
  • Aphrodite bestows Phosphor’s Swap.
    • Let players instantly switch places with a statue-like clone.

Rewards

Over the course of this new journey, players can earn a new set of divine armor as well as weapons. These offer different new perks like reducing damage from enemies and traps. Then, there are the relics from other gods that've been locked away in optional puzzles.

Free Demo

For those who haven’t tried the game, there’s some good news with the free demo. It’s available for PC, Switch, PS4, and Xbox One. For those who have the next-gen consoles, don't worry since the free demo is offered as well for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. The demo has exclusive content that’s not available in the main game. That content gives players a sample of the hero’s abilities.

You can access the free demo here and buy the full game here.
