Hearthstone Patch 26.6 Marks Start of Twist Mode Beta Seasons

Let's do the Twist! Blizzard

The newest update for Hearthstone is finally here and that means, the beta seasons of Twist Mode have started. With Patch 26.6, Twist is now going to replace Classic.

Twist is like other modes in the game where there is a constructed format and players get to build a deck and compete in a ranked ladder climb. However, compared to Standard and Wild, each season of Twist has a "special twist" on eligible card pools or rules. It's pretty much a way for players to replay their old favorite cards but seeing them in a new light.

The beta period for Twist runs during Patch 26.6, which sets the eligible Twist card pool, but with no neutral cards:

  • Core
  • Demon Hunter Initiate
  • Ashes of Outland
  • Scholomance Academy
  • Madness at the Darkmoon Faire
  • Forged in the Barrens
  • United in Stormwind
  • Fractured in Alterac Valley
  • Voyage to the Sunken City
  • Murder at Castle Nathria
  • March of the Lich King
  • Path of Arthas
  • Festival of Legends

To help ease players into the new mode, six specially created Battle-Ready decks for Twist have been made available. It's perfect for those who don't have the cards for the format and want to experience it. The Battle-Ready decks are available in regular (3,200 Gold or $19.99) and all-Golden (12,000 Gold or $79.99).

Twist New Age

In celebration of Twist Beta, players are invited to a special in-game event from July 3 to July 11. A special event rewards track is available and has players complete Twist-based event quests so they can earn event XP. Everyone has the chance to earn six packs from New Age which can be used during the Twist Beta seasons.

Fire Festival

Players should be happy to know that the Fire Festival is making a return. This annual midsummer celebration runs from July 11 to August 1. There are special event quests and prizes for Traditional and Battlegrounds. Complete rewards track and earn:

  • Three Standard Packs
  • Two March of the Lich King Packs
  • Festival of Legends Pack
  • Sparkhoarder Togwaggle Battlegrounds Hero Skin
  • Felblaze Illidan Demon Hunter skin

Battlegrounds

Patch 26.6 introduces a lot of changes to Battlegrounds, with the highlight of the returning Battlegrounds Quests on July 11. Quest-Reward options are going to appear on turn four (the 6-Gold turn) and let you choose how you want to play the rest of the match.

There's a new product in Battlegrounds as well called Epic Bartenders. Epic Bartenders come with alternate portraits and new voice lines like Rare Bartenders. They also have a Golden frame along with Golden-style animation on their portraits. The first-ever Epic Bartender, Lillian Singh, is now available in the in-game shop.
