Hearthstone Welcomes the Darkmoon Races Mini-Set

Hearthstone is bringing back The Darkmoon Races, the most exciting and dangerous competition in all of Azeroth. It doesn’t matter what you’re on since when the starting wand is waved, everything is fair game. There’s only one rule which is to make it to the finish in one piece.

The Darkmoon Races Mini-Set is launching tomorrow, January 21. It’s going to offer:

  • 4 Legendary cards
  • 1 Epic card (x2)
  • 14 Rare cards (x2)
  • 16 Common cards (x2)

That’s not all as for the first time, the complete 66 card set can be bought in-game or at the webshop, available for either $14.99 or 2,000 Gold.

The Mini-Set also includes four Legendary minions, three of which are Legendary Racers from an expansion during the Year of the Phoenix. These are:

  • Keywarden Ivory
  • Dark Inquisitor Xanesh
  • Envoy Rustwix

Several card mechanics are returning as well like Corruption, Dormant, and Spellburst. Thus, players can expect to see these cards:

Patch 19.4

The Darkmoon Races Mini-Set arrives with Patch 19.4. That means players can expect some changes and even new content. Battlegrounds are introducing these cards to the game:

  • New Heroes
    • Tickatus
      • Prize Wall [Passive]
        • Every 4 turns, Discover a Darkmoon Prize.
    • Greybough
      • Sprout It Out! [Passive]
        • Give +1/+2 and Taunt to minions you summon during combat.
  • New Minions
    • Soul Devourer
      • [Tier 3, Demon] 3 Attack, 3 Health
        • Battlecry: Choose a friendly Demon. Remove it to gain its stats and 3 Gold.
    • Ring Matron
      • [Tier 4, Demon] 6 Attack, 4 Health
        • Taunt.
        • Deathrattle: Summon two 3/2 Imps.

While these new cards are indeed exciting, it’s important to announce to players that Floating Watcher is no longer part of the Battlegrounds Minion pool.

The Patch also introduces updates to Duels. It’s going to add:

  • 10 new Hero Powers
  • 25 new Signature Treasures
    • 5 of which are Dual-Class
  • 4 new Passive Treasures
  • 2 new Active Treasures
