A new fan theory has speculated on the potential release date of Valve's "Half-Life 3," and many are now doubling down on this latest rumor as gamers believe it could be the real deal for the franchise.

'Half-Life 3' Release Date Speculations from a Fan Theory

In a post by a Redditor called u/sameseksure on the r/HalfLife subreddit, there is a possibility that Valve is planning to officially unveil "Half-Life 3" to the world because of recent changes in the Steam Store.

According to the Redditor, Valve is known for using the top banner on the Steam Store's landing page whenever they are trying to promote a sale event or new products.

However, from November 18 to December 8, there seems to be no scheduled top banner in the Steam Store's landing page, speculating that this timeline could potentially have the "Half-Life 3" banner displayed.

The fan theory also referenced the schedule of Steam Events slated for this year from another Redditor, stressing the long gap without any banner to be displayed.

According to the Redditor, Valve is not the kind of company that would have a Steam sale event and a featured game promoted at the same time as it would only be one or the other.

During this massive gap from November to December, it is possible that Valve would put "Half-Life 3" at the page's top banner as part of its promotion after its unveiling.

The Redditor's fan theory claimed that the company could take this time to also also announce another game, "Deckard," or it could potentially be both "Deckard" and "Half-Life 3."

Is Valve Close to Releasing 'Half-Life 3'?

At present, there are not many reports or rumors about "Half-Life 3" releasing anytime soon, particularly as the game has long paused its production and Valve has not addressed anything about it.

The fan theory claims that Valve moved its Autumn sale unusually early in September this year, despite it being held annually in November. These factors have been the key argument of the fan theory, which has them believing that an unveiling is happening within this month for the highly anticipated game.

It is also important to note that back in 2019, when Valve first announced "Half-Life: Alyx," the company also immediately replaced the top banner with the VR game's promotional materials on Steam's front page.

That being said, this post remains a fan theory, and there are no confirmations yet from Valve as of press time.
