Aliwi "w33" Omar is one of the most popular professional players in Dota 2. The only catch, however, is that he has yet to lift the Aegis despite being in tier-one organizations before. Now, Team Bald Reborn’s very own captain and owner Janne “Gorgc” Stefanovski shared details about his arrival to the team.

Many Dota 2 fans thought that w33 would be cheering from the sidelines in the upcoming competitive season as he was yet to be in a team prior to his inclusion in Team Bald Reborn. Interestingly, he accepted the invitation from Gorgc and became part of the team at the last minute. He will be playing as the mid laner, replacing former position two player Steve “Xcalibur” Ye, who joined the North American team Arkosh Gaming.

In a livestream, Gorgc was asked about his reluctance to include the hero Meepo in the team’s rotation and strategy in the previous competitive season. While he did not provide a direct answer, he said that the hero would definitely find its way to the team’s draft in the upcoming competitive season. This is to be expected actually since Meepo is w33’s main. Just look at how he carried Team Liquid in the video below:

However, the Dota 2 Twitch streamer admitted that he has concerns with his new mid laner. First and foremost, they have yet to touch base and speak with each other since the Romanian mid laner accepted the invitation to be part of Team Bald Reborn. Second, Gorgc said that he has yet to see w33 play in any pub games since accepting the invitation from him.

Obviously, Dota 2 is a team game where communication plays a very important role. While not playing pub games does not necessarily speak volumes of a professional player’s gaming quality, it can be a make or break for his overall performance. There is a reason why teams love to scrim every now and then – it gives them a feel for what the upcoming competition might look like and explore different drafts or hero combinations.

As of writing, w33 has not played in any pubs but revealed his plans to do so in January 2023. He even promised to return to livestreaming.
