GOG.com is a digital distribution platform that offers a curated selection of games. It delivers DRM-free video games for Microsoft Windows, OS X and Linux. While it appears that GOG.com is similar to other platforms, it offers older games as well as new releases. GOG's main appeal is that the products it offers lack any type of digital rights management. This gives consumers the ability to install the game anywhere and as many times as they want. Indeed, compared to other platforms, GOG.com ensures that users no longer need to install special client software in order to run games. Once the game is downloaded, the customer can do whatever they want with the software. They can install it on multiple devices, archive it on any personal media, or even mod and patch to their liking. The only restriction is that customers are not allowed to share or resell the game.
