Moving to a new role. Dignitas

Last week, Christopher "GeT_RiGhT" Alesund announced that he was leaving the CS: GO competitive scene. Fans wondering what’s going to be next for him won’t have to wait long for the answer. Dignitas has revealed that GeT_RiGhT is going to remain with the organization but as a full-time content creator. In essence, GeT_RiGhT is now a streamer.

Looking Back

Before becoming a legend in the CS: GO community, GeT_RiGhT was already playing as far back as Counter-Strike 1.6. Before being part of Dignitas, he was part of Ninjas in Pyjamas, winning different World titles and even a Major Championship. It was during his time with NiP that he was named as the world’s best player for two straight years and part of the Top 20 for four consecutive years.

He was in NiP for seven years before joining Dignitas in 2020. While his time with Dignitas as a player was shorter compared to when he was with NiP, that didn’t stop him from giving his all. This Dignitas was not only beloved around the world but also had the longest-ever competitive win streak. Just how good was this roster? They had an 87–0 map win streak on LAN.

With a professional career lasting 13 years, it’s no question that GeT_RiGhT managed to earn a wide range of titles and rewards. He is also one of CS: GO’s most adored and highly respected personality.

Moving Forward

Dignitas revealed that signing GeT_RiGhT as a content creator is fitting after the organization got rebranded. The rebranding brought back “Digi," the beloved logo of the team’s founding in 2003, as part of reimagining the organization. GeT_RiGhT is part of the reimagined Digi to better engage fans.

"As someone who has been in the esports industry for twenty years, I can confidently say GeT_RiGhT is truly one of the most engaging and admired personalities to ever exist in esports," said Heather Garozzo, Dignitas' VP of Talent in a statement.

Meanwhile, GeT_RiGhT said that he had long been planning out what his next steps would be and this is clearly the right path for him. He added that being a content creator, it would allow him “to build a closer connection” to the global fanbase he had gathered throughout the years. GeT_RiGhT is still going to continue to focus on CS: GO but he’ll also be expanding to other titles like VALORANT, Call of Duty, League of Legends, and even Among Us. If you’re one of those interested, you can watch GeT_RiGhT’s official channels on Twitch and YouTube.
