Get Ready for a New Adventure as Fallout 76 Opens Up the Skyline Valley

A new region has opened. Bethesda

A new update is now live in Fallout 76 and with it opens up a new area. Get ready to explore Skyline Valley, a mysterious location that's covered by a storm unlike any that has been seen before. This is the first map expansion of the Appalachian region.

A new area means that there are new things to do and indeed there's a lot. In "An Unlikely Invitation," you've managed to find the true location of Vault 63 and now have to work with the least to learn more about the Storm and The Lost. As you try to discover the mystery behind the Lost, you'll get to meet new characters. However, you'll also need to make choices that can affect the fate of those in Vault 63.

"Dangerous Pastimes" meanwhile is a new Public Event where you'll be asked to help settlers or tourists get their best pictures of the Storm. To do that you'll need to protect them from the nearby Lost and the electrically charged creatures. As you explore Skyline Valley further, you'll be faced with "Neurological Warfare" where you'll be tempted to nuke the region. Just make the decision and see what happens after.

Power Armor Changes

Aside from opening up a new area, the update also introduces changes to the gameplay. It focuses primarily on the Power Armor with changes being:

  • Fixing a state players could get in where they could no longer craft Union Power Armor when they should have been able to.
  • Union Power Armor no longer drops as loot from enemies but can be rolled from The Purveyor if the recipe or entitlement is known by the player.

In a post, the development team shared that the fix now means the Union Power Armor is now craftable for those who purchased and learned the recipe from Giuseppe. The same goes for players who earned the Union Power Armor entitlements in Season 10.

The second changes means that Union Power Armor pieces no longer drop as loot even if players can craft the Power Armor pieces. However, they can find them through random Power Amor Purchases from Murmrgh at The Rusty Pick. Players should only be able to see Union Power Armor Pieces that they know how to craft drops from Purveyor's Mystery Picks. Pieces that they have yet to learn won't drop.

Finally, Union Power Armor pieces that continue to have the Atomic Symbol on them can't be traded or dropped by players once they have been obtained.

Don't forget to check out the other offers available this week in the Atomic Shop. Fallout 76 is available for the PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
