Genshin Impact is set in a world with seven major regions. Since its release last year though, only two have been accessible to players. That’s all going to change once Version 2.0 drops on July 21. Titled “The Immovable God and the Eternal Euthymia,” players are taken across the sea and to the region of Inazuma. Ruled by the Electro Archon, it boasts different cultures and creatures and even comes with its own set of mysteries.

So what can players expect in Inazuma? Unlike Mondstadt and Liyue, it is surrounded on all sides by the sea. In addition, it’s not one big piece of land but six main islands.

Meet New Characters

Players will meet new characters with three of them being playable. The first is Kamisato Ayaka of the Kamisato Clan. Considered by many as strong, wise, elegant, and dignified, some players are likely to be familiar with her. She joins the game as a five-star Cryo sword user.

The second playable character is the “Queen of the Summer Festival” Yoimiya. Also a five-star character, she joins the game as a Pyro archer and an expert on fireworks. Finally, there is Sayu, a four-star ninja who brings with her the Anemo Vision and a claymore that’s bigger than her.

Battle New Bosses

Of course, if there are new characters, then there are new Boss enemies. The Hypostasis family is joined by a new Pyro member called Pyro Hypostasis. Another new boss coming is the Perpetual Mechanical Array. This one makes its appearance in Inazuma but it’s been said with connection to the Ruin Guards in Mondstadt and Liyue. By the way, Maguu Kenki can now be found as a World Boss.

Other Features

Version 2.0 is set to introduce new features aimed at improving the player experience. One of these is the cross-save function between PC, PlayStation, and mobile. Expect as well more refined character shading.

Arriving as well is the Haptic Feedback support for the PS5 DualSense Controller.

Released in September 2020, Genshin Impact is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Android, and iOS.
