It looks like all systems go for the Genshin Impact concert series with Genshin Concert 2022 - Melodies of an Endless Journey scheduled for October 2. This upcoming concert can be enjoyed by players and fans for free through the game’s official YouTube channel.
For this global online concert, Genshin Impact and HOYO-MiX made sure to bring in Shiro Sagisu as the music director. For those not familiar, he’s a world-famous composer, arranger, and music producer. Sagisu has served as music producer and composer for a lot of fan-favorite films and anime, including Neon Genesis Evangelion.
The concert will also have the Hollywood Chamber Orchestra, along with talented musicians worldwide.
The Genshin Concert 2022 is projected to be 75 minutes long, featuring authentic renditions and creative adaptations of iconic Genshin Impact soundtracks. Fans can look forward to the Hollywood Chamber Orchestra giving classic symphonic performances, conducted by award-winning music conductor and composer Eímear Noone. Noone is best known for her extensive work in video game music.
Meanwhile, for this concert, Music Director Shiro Sagisu is collaborating with popular bands, folk musicians, and talented artists from different backgrounds. The goal is to reimagine the soundtracks of Genshin Impact in contemporary styles.
In a statement, HOYO-MiX Composer and Music Producer Yu-Peng Chen revealed that creating music for the game has been an endless exploration not only for him but also for the entire team. He went on to say that over the past year, they’ve worked to enrich the game’s music using inspirations drawn across the world.
Music Director Shiro Sagisu shared that the game’s original soundtracks fit well in the in-game scenes and ambience. In addition, the soundtracks also provide much when imagining beyond the game. He added that along with the HOYO-MiX team and various global artists, they’ve tried different touches to the music like mixing elements of pop music, rock, and jazz.
Genshin Impact is a free-to-play and open-world adventure RPG where players are introduced to the visually stunning world of Teyvat. They take on the role of the mysterious "Traveler," who goes on a journey to discover the fate of their lost sibling and learn more about the mysterious secrets of Teyvat along the way.
Genshin Impact is available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Android, and iOS.
