Fortnite released patch v10.31 which adds none other than the World's Greatest Detective, Batman. This crossover is in celebration of Batman's 80th anniversary and lasts Until October 6. Batman arrives in Fortnite through a Rift Zone that also includes Gotham City.
It's not just Batman though, as players also get the chance to use the Grapnel Gun and the Batarang. Additional details include:
- Batman Grapnel Gun
- Available in Mythic variant.
- Found from Floor Loot, Chests, Supply Drops, and Llamas.
- The Batman Grapnel Gun comes with 10 charges.
- A charge is consumed each time the player is launched.
- When the grappling hook from the Batman Grapnel Gun impacts something in the environment, the owner is going to be launched in a flat arc towards the point of impact.
- At the apex of the launch, the player can deploy the Bat Cape, which can be used like any other Glider to traverse great distances.
- Explosive Batarang
- Available in Mythic variant.
- Found from Floor Loot, Chests, Supply Drops, and Llamas.
- Drops in stacks of 5.
- Max stack size is 10.
- This consumable item is thrown out in a relatively flat arc. It homes in towards opponents.
- The projectile explodes when in close proximity to an opponent.
- Explosion damage:
- 50 damage to players.
- 200 damage to the environment.
- 50 damage to players.
- Explosion damage:
- If the Explosive Batarang impacts the environment, it sticks to the spot where it lands. At that point, it behaves as a proximity mine, exploding when opponents come too close to it.
- An Explosive Batarang that has impacted the environment can be disarmed and picked up by both the player who threw it or their allies.
The update comes with the Batman Caped Crusader Pack, which not only includes Batman-themed cosmetics but also the Batman Comic Book Outfit and The Dark Knight Movie Outfit. The Pack is avialable until October 6.
Aside from Batman, there is also an outfit offered based on Catwoman.
Players can also rescue the island from danger through the heroic Challenges. This is available until October 1 and completing these Challenges has players earn free rewards from the Welcome to Gotham City Challenge Bundle, which includes the Catwing Glider.
Mobile
The update is not all Batman as it also offers a rather interesting feature. In particular, Fortnite Mobile is all set to introduce the Party Hub feature.
What this Party Hub does is it connects friends on the go so that the party is sure to never stop. Through this feature players can see who is online, party up, and jump in a game together regardless of the platform. You can learn more about this feature here.
