Fortnite Update 18.21 kicks off the Fortnitemares: Wrath of the Cube Queen Event.
This Halloween affair has a lot to offer, so if you are interested, read on to find out what's in store for you.
New POI, Enemy, and Weapon
Those who have played the game since the beginning of Chapter 2, Season 8, know that the Cubes are moving towards the center of the island.
Apparently, they are forming “The Convergence.” Those who venture towards this new POI will find the Cube Queen at the center, enclosed in some sort of evil power.
Along with the usual Cube Monsters, you will also have to take out a new threat: the Caretakers. They are tall and foreboding and can pull you towards the Sideways. Come out of it alive, and you will walk away with awesome rewards.
To keep up with the spooky vibes, you will have a chance of acquiring the new sinister Sideways Scythe. The Pumpkin Rocket Launcher and Witch Brooms, popular items from previous Fortnitemare events, are coming back this year as well.
Horde Rush is Back
Part of this season’s theme is to combat the Cube Monsters. But just fighting them in a typical fashion will be boring at some point, so the devs have made things fun with Update 18.21.
The Horde Rush returns, and for those who do not know, it’s an Alamo-style game mode where you will fight hordes of Cube Monsters in special locations across the map. You basically hold the fort as monsters keep pouring in. You must face and defeat the Final Boss to win.
This limited-time game mode is available from October 19 to November 2 at 9 a.m. EST. Complete exclusive Horde Rush quests to unlock the Thinking Juice Back Bling, Cube Queen Banner, and Cuddle Scream Leader Spray.
Special Rewards
Aside from the Horde Rush, a Fortnitemares Punchcard will be given to you by Hollowhead. It is a card that contains numerous objectives, and once completed, will award special rewards.
For instance, you can join Ariana Grande and complete her Monster Hunter questline to get the All-Weather Extractor Pickaxe (Dark Style). If you are a Fortnite Crew member, you will receive the Brite Style of the All-Weather Extractor Pickaxe as well.
The folks at Epic Games will also be holding two Power Leveling Weekends. The dates are as follows:
First: October 22 at 7 p.m. EST to October 25 at 7 a.m EST
Second: October 29 at 7 p.m. EST to November 1 at 7 a.m. EST
The Fortnitemares: Wrath of the Cube Queen Event is ongoing and will end on November 2 at 9 a.m. EST.
