Fortnite Chapter 2 has made it possible for the game to become exciting once again. With a lot of changes introduced by developer Epic Games, now is the perfect time for players – particularly newbies – to jump in and experience what the fuss is all about.

The Rules

Before you start your first match, it is important to know how the game actually works. Fortnite is pretty much like Apex Legends and PUBG, but it is by far the most popular battle royale game. Each match has 100 competitors who are either playing solo, as part of a four-person team, or with a partner in a mode known as duos. You will have 100 health points, which is the same as everyone in the match, and you can replenish it with any healing items you can find on the island. Also, you can obtain at least 100 points in shields through potions and other consumables. If you hit zero health, you are eliminated, and the player or team that survives until the end of the match is triumphant.

Build, Build, and Build

In a Fortnite match, you are given the opportunity to build structures so you can use them to defend yourself against attacks. You can also use these structures to reach certain areas or acquire the upper hand on an enemy. Building skills are arguably more essential than having the skill to shoot accurately.

By default, you will be equipped with a pickax or harvesting tool at the start of every match. While it does not deal significant damage to your enemies, it is more about helping you obtain materials. Almost everything on the island can be destroyed with a harvesting tool, providing you with metal, stone (sometimes called brick) or wood. These materials are meant to be used for building. However, they all range in sturdiness and wood is deemed to be the weakest, with brick being the strongest.

Learn Where to Drop

Keep in mind that the island is quite massive. The named locations (or points of interest), on the other hand, can sometimes contain more chests than healing items, weapons, and other equipment. These items can either be left out in the open or completely hidden in certain locations. Your best course of action is to get familiar with the map, so you will know exactly where you are going to head out after jumping. Your goal is to find a place where you can find and gather as many items as you can.
