February is the month of love, so it's not surprising to know that there will be a Valentine’s Day Event in Pokémon GO. It starts February 10 and ends February 14, and sees the official debut of Flabébé, Floette, and Florges.
These Pokémon are going to come in five different colors - red, yellow, orange, blue, and white. Trainers can evolve Flabébé into Floette with 25 Flabébé Candy. Meanwhile, Floette can evolve into Florges using 100 Flabébé Candy. However, Trainers first need to earn 20 hearts with Floette as their buddy.
Still on Flabébé, it’s going to appear in the wild with differently colored flowers. The colors are based on locations which are:
- Red Flower Flabébé: Appearing in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa
- Blue Flower Flabébé: Appearing in the Asia-Pacific region
- Yellow Flower Flabébé: Appearing in the Americas
Meanwhile, Trainers lucky enough could encounter the White Flower Flabébé and Orange Flower Flabébé. Unlike the other three, these two appear in all regions.
Event Bonuses
For this event, the bonuses are:
- 2× Lure Module duration.
- 2× Catch Candy.
- The Buddy Pokémon is going to bring items to Trainers more often.
Global Valentine’s Challenge
Even before the Valentine's event begins, Trainers can enjoy the Global Valentine’s Challenge from February 9 to 15. Trainers need to work with other trainers around the world by sending Gifts to their friends. The Global Challenge Goal is to send 70 million Gifts. Once this objective is reached, the Global Challenge Bonus 3× Transfer Candy is unlocked.
New Form Change
For the duration of the event, Trainers have the chance to change their Natural Form Furfrou to Heart Trim Furfrou. To make the change, follow these steps:
- Furfrou begins in its Natural Form.
- Select Furfrou in the Pokémon storage. Tap the Change Form button to bring up a menu that lists the available Trims.
- Select the preferred Trim.
- Changing the Furfrou from one Trim to any other Trim costs 25 Furfrou Candy and 10,000 Stardust.
In-Game Shop
During the event, Trainers can buy these new avatar items in the in-game shop:
- Flabébé Hair Pin
- Flabébé Shirt
- Flabébé Shorts
