Have you been clamoring for a way to transfer your characters to different Worlds in Final Fantasy XIV? If so, Patch 6.18 will definitely make you happy because it implements the new data center travel system. Read further to learn more about this new feature.

What is it?

The data center travel system is a new feature in Final Fantasy XIV, where you can travel between data centers temporarily and embark on adventures with other people from different Worlds.

To use it, you must first choose the character that you want to transfer, then select “Visit Another Data Center” from the subcommand menu. The next page allows you to select which data center and World you wish to travel to. You can log into the game shortly after the process is completed. Keep in mind that travel times may take longer during periods of server congestion.

Anyone who uses this new feature will have the “Traveler” title displayed on their nameplate. This indicates that the player is from another data center. The title is displayed when undertaking duties and also in the friends’ list and player searches.
