The first-ever official online tournament for Final Fantasy VII The First Soldier is happening this August 2022. If you’re interested, register now for the chance to win a bunch of rewards like a share of the $10,000 prize pool. Registration ends August 5 at 2:59 a.m. EDT.
To join, players need to form a team of three with at least one member having a team rank of "Elite Trooper" or higher. Players also need to have a global account of the game along with a Discord account connected to the official Discord server of the tournament.
The tournament is going to have In-Game Qualifier Rounds, Preliminary Rounds, a Finals One Round, and a Finals Two Rounds. The complete schedule is:
- Tournament Registration
- July 22 to August 5 at 2:59 a.m. EDT
- In-game Qualifiers
- August 12 to August 14
- Preliminary Round
- August 21
- Finals Round
- August 27 and August 28
The Finals will be broadcast on the official Square Enix Twitch channel.
Rewards and Prizes
It won't be a tournament without rewards and prizes and these are:
- Free Participation Rewards
- All players who register and participate in the In-game Qualifiers receive free participation rewards, such as an in-game title and banner, and a character and weapon skin exclusive to the tournament.
- Cash Prize Pool
- The winners of the tournament have the chance to claim a large piece of the $10,000 cash prize pool.
- The cash prize pool is broken down into:
- First Place: $6,000 ($2,000 per player)
- Second Place: $3,000 ($1,000 per player)
- Third Place: $900 ($300 per player)
- MVP: $100
- Physical Items from RAZER
- Finalists have the chance to fight their way to the top and win different mobile hardware accessories from RAZER, which include a Kishi Controller for mobile and an Opus X Wireless Headset.
- In-game Rewards
- Winners can get their hands on tons of Shinra Credits to splurge on in-game items and cosmetics.
