One more Ubisoft game has been leaked. The previously rumored Far Cry 6 is all but confirmed now. A page for FC6 went live today on the Hong Kong PlayStation Store which revealed the setting of the game, its antagonist, story, and the release date. The game will launch on PS4 and comes with a free upgrade for PS5.

The page has now been removed, but nothing is ever deleted on the internet. A few people were able to take screenshots of the page, which you can check out below.

If the leaks are to be believed, then Far Cry 6 will put you in a tropical paradise called Yara. Yara is ruled by ruthless dictator Anton Castillo. Castillo is played by Breaking Bad actor Giancarlo Esposito, who can be seen in the cover photo for the game. The antagonist wants to restore its country’s former glory by whatever (violent) means possible. Below is the official description of the game as seen in the tweet.

“Welcome to Yara, a tropical paradise frozen in time. As the dictator of Yara, Anton Castillo is intent on restoring his nation back to its former glory by any means, with his son, Diego, following in his bloody footsteps. The ruthless oppression has ignited a revolution.”

The story feels somewhat similar to previous Far Cry titles, however, your character is not. Rather than a tourist or an outsider, this time you will play as a local Yaran, Dani Rojas. You are a guerrilla fighter that wants to liberate the country.

A pre-order bonus for the game was also revealed in the leak. If you pre-order the game then you will get a skin for Chorizo (likely an animal companion) and a state-of-the-art Discos Locos weapon. The page also revealed that the FC6 map will be the largest ever in the Far Cry franchise. The game will support offline singleplayer, and online multiplayer for two players. This reminds me of the co-op campaign in Far Cry 5. Far Cry 6 will also feature in-game purchases, but it has not been confirmed yet whether that is full-fledged DLCs or just microtransactions. Based on previous Far Cry games, there is a good chance that it’s both.

So what do you think? Are you excited about Far Cry 6? Do you think the game seems rather similar to previous entries? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
