Fallout 76 Nuclear Winter Mode is Officially Gone

So long.
So long. Bethesda

The latest update for Fallout 76 brought a lot of new content. There’s the introduction of Fallout Worlds and the beginning of Season 6. However, it also marks the official end of the Nuclear Winter mode.

This was a 52-player battle royale mode launched back in June 2019. It has its own overseer ranks in terms of progression. The mode being removed from the game isn’t a surprise. It was already reported back in August that this was happening. The Fallout 76 team had also revealed previously that the rewards in Nuclear Winter Mode were staying.

Today we take a closer look into the rewards.

Let’s start with the Nuclear Winter Pennant. This is available to players who were able to finish at least one match in the Nuclear Winter Mode. The item can be built in the C.A.M.P. It’s going to be added to the Wall Décor category in the build menu. Qualified players need to wait about two weeks for it to arrive.

There’s also the Perk Coins. This is given to players and the amount is based on their progression in the mode. These are:

  • Get six Perk Coins per Nuclear Winter Perk Card earned from the Nuclear Winter progression system.
  • Get one Perk Coin per Overseer Ticket earned.

Finally, there are the Cosmetic Rewards. These were earned while progressing through the Overseer Ranks. The rewards will now be available in Adventure Mode and can be claimed by finishing Public Events. Here are some of the events where players have the chance to earn these cosmetic rewards:

  • A Colossal Problem
  • Encryptid
  • Project Paradise
  • Scorched Earth
  • Limited-Time Events
    • Festive Scorched
    • Treasure Hunter

One thing staying but won’t be available to others are the Exclusive Rewards. These are the Nuclear Winter Trophies and Statues earned by going through the ranks. They remain exclusive to players who obtained them.
