Erangel Classic Returns to PUBG: Battlegrounds for a Limited Period

Time to go old school. Krafton

Krafton announced that PUBG: Battlegrounds is returning to its roots and bringing back the Erangel Classic map. It's launching in the game along with update 29.2.

Erangel Classic is a recreated version of the Erangel map, the first ever battleground in the game. Even then, this version is sure to bring back those feelings of nostalgia especially for those who were able to play the game during the early days. Erangel Classic features the original concepts and atmosphere of Erangel when it was first made available and combines with current gameplay elements. This allows it to have that unique old-school experience.

Players are sure to love the fact that iconic elements from the original map have been implemented with this version. When starting Erangel Classic for example, players are not only going to see that benches are back, but weapons have been placed on them across the starting island. To get a better feel of the "early days," the recoil of most weapons has been reduced. In addition, they're sure to be excited after finding out that there's a Tommy Gun in the Care Package.

Players also get to experience foggy and rainy weather along with graphics, world map, and a minimap that all call back to the original.

While it is indeed exciting to know that new players get to try the original map through Erangel Classic, it's not going to be a permanent thing. Erangel Classic is available in Normal Match and replaces the current Erangel map. It's going to run from May 14 to May 18 for PC players. Meanwhile those on console can play it from May 23 to June 6. During these periods,
