Valve released the latest balance update for Dota Underlords. Aside from the usual adjustments and performance optimizations, the update makes changes to the new opponent selection logic. This is in answer to the community feedback of having to fight the same opponents over and over.

In terms of hero changes, Keeper of the Light received a slight nerf as Illuminate now costs 150 mana with health decreased to 550/1100/2200.

Other hero changes include:

  • Dragon Knight
    • Breathe Fire is now his base ability.
    • Dragon Alliance now unlocks Dragon Form.
    • Hit Points increased to 1000/2000/4000.
    • Gained +10 Health Regeneration.
  • Puck
    • Dragon Alliance now unlocks Phase Shift.
  • Viper
    • Dragon Alliance now unlocks Corrosive Skin.
  • Chaos Knight
    • Damage Increased from [40-110, 80-220, 160-440] to [55-135, 110-240, 200-480].

The latest update also introduces a new item: Pipe of Insight. The item offers +50% Magic Resistance and once the first enemy has 100% mana, a shield is applied to allies up to one cell away that blocks 400 magic damage. This second effect occurs once per battle, though.

Boots of Speed has been renamed to Tranquil Boots, and grants a Passive +16 health regen along with a 100% bonus move speed.

Three other items have been given buffs. Wicked Intent, for example, now blocks HP regen as well. For Desperate Measure, the item is now able to increase mana gained on receving/dealing damage by the same amount as attack damage.

The third item is Pocket Sand, which helps Assassin blind enemies one cell away from where they land for two seconds and gives them a 50% miss chance. Two changes have been made to Pocket Sand in the latest update. The first is that the item now also slows mana gained on receiving damage by 50%. The second is that it debuffs a random enemy unit within two cells if no units are within one cell of the Assassin landing.

For Alliance, changes are:

  • Dragon Alliance
    • Now requires two units.
    • Now Unlocks an additional ability for each member of the Alliance.
  • Scrappy Alliance
    • Now provides eight armor and nine health regeneration. It provides double that amount if your starting army is smaller in size than your opponent's.
  • Knight Alliance
    • Now gives a constant 15/25/35% damage reduction and an additional 20/25/30% when next to another knight.
