There have been big moves lately in the Dota 2 competitive scene in Western Europe. Team Secret is letting go of Daryl "iceiceice" Koh in favor of another player. Meanwhile, OG made the decision to release Topias "Topson" Taavitsainen from the organization.

Where is Godson Headed?

Let's start with Topson, who surprised a lot of people in the community when OG signed him back in 2018. Since then, he has managed to prove to doubters just how good he is. After winning TI twice, Topson made the decision in November of last year to take a break from competitive play and was placed on inactive status. Early this year, he returned to Dota 2 but as a streamer.

As such, it shocked fans when OG revealed that it was giving Topson "the right to explore his options for this TI." It seems that Topson was to compete but with a new team. This is good news for the current roster of OG since they get to prove that they have what it takes to be the successor. However, it's also safe to say that it's bad news to some teams who may likely release one member of the roster to accommodate Topson.

While there's no final word on where Topson is headed, rumors suggest that he may not be keen on joining a team in Southeast Asia.

The Hype is Gone

When Iceiceice joined Team Secret in November, there was a great hype surrounding the move. It was indeed a big deal considering that Iceiceice was signed to the team along with Syed Sumail “SumaiL” Hassan. That hype would eventually die down as Secret eventually parted ways with SumaiL.

When Secret announced that it was bringing in Roman "Resolut1on" Fomynok as a stand-in for Iceiceice in the Riyadh Masters, speculations of being kicked out emerged in the community. As it turns out, the talks were true and indeed Iceiceice is no longer part of Secret.

Hopefully, Resolut1on would provide the answers that Secret needs.

What do you think? Which team is Topson joining? What about Team Secret?
