Lasse “MATUMBAMAN” Urpalainen said previously he planned to take an indefinite break from competitive Dota 2. He did, however, express his intentions to be part of the upcoming 2019-20 Dota Pro Circuit. Based on a recent leak, it seems Team Secret will be his next esports organization.

The leak on Reddit seems to suggest that MATUMBAMAN might be joining Team Secret in the upcoming DPC season. Although Secret did have an incredible run at The International 2019, Clement “Puppey” Ivanov is always on the lookout for ways to make the team better and improve their chances of claiming a second International championship.

Interestingly, Matu has been on Puppey’s radar since Team Liquid's recent release. Considering the fact that Matu is one of the best carries in the Dota 2 pro scene, it makes total sense for Puppey to bring him along. Just check out the new roster if he ends up in Team Secret:

  • Lasse “MATUMBAMAN” Urpalainen
  • Michał “Nisha” Jankowski
  • Ludwig “zai” Wåhlberg
  • Yazied “YapzOr” Jaradat
  • Clement “Puppey” Ivanov

Puppey is really known for never keeping the same roster together for more than a single season without rotating at least one player. And if this line up become a reality, it will definitely back up Puppey’s policy. Yeik “MidOne” Nai Zheng has been on the team since 2017. His inclusion has given Puppey a lot of time to strategize moves and plays around him.

But unlike MidOne, Matu is not the type who really plays a lot of heroes. Still, he can bring his experience to Team Secret and would definitely give Puppey (also a TI veteran) more flexibility in the draft.

As of this writing, Matu is still part of Chaos Esports Club’s roster, albeit inactive. MidOne, on the other hand, has not been officially released from Team Secret. The 2019-20 Dota Pro Circuit is just a few days away and teams are expected to finalize their roster. With the new season just around the corner, fans and players alike can expect some changes from Team Secret for sure.
