The Qualifiers for The International 2022 for Western Europe are done. After five days of competition, it was Dota 2 team Entity that came out on top. Making the victory even impressive is that they managed to sweep all other teams they faced off against.

When the participants for the Qualifiers were announced, there was the expectation of having excellent matches and the tournament did not disappoint. After all, there were the likes of Team Secret, Team Liquid, Nigma Galaxy, and Entity.

Regular DPC Season

Entity started the 2021–2022 DPC season at Division II. At the end of Tour 1, they tied with Brame in standing. Fortunately for them, they were able to beat Brame in the tiebreaker and got promoted to Division I.

At the end of Tour 2, Entity was only able to finish in sixth place, again tied with Brame. Like what happened in Tour 1, they again won the tiebreaker and guaranteed to stay in Division I.

For Tour 3, they managed to improve their show by ending in fourth place and being qualified for the Arlington Major. At the Arlington Major, they were able to finish in fifth-sixth place. In hindsight, this should have been a good indicator of how the team would perform.

The Qualifiers

During the Qualifiers, they were able to sweep their first two opponents and secure a spot in the Upper Bracket Final. Entity then faced off against Liquid and they showed everyone just how good they were by also sweeping Liquid.

In the Grand Final, it was against Secret and it didn’t seem to matter. In the first game, they didn’t give Secret a chance to breathe. The game ended with Secret having only a total of five team kills. The second game was pretty much the same with Secret again left at single digits in total team kills.

In the third game, Secret managed to perform a bit better but it wasn’t enough. With momentum on their side, Entity closed out the game and claimed the match.

With the loss, Secret joins Liquid in the Last Chance Qualifier. They’ll be joining 10 other Dota 2 teams in the fight for the last two spots for The International 2022. The complete list of teams participating are:
