If the results of the first two regional qualifiers are an indication of what's to come, we may be seeing quite a few updates. For The International Qualifiers for Eastern Europe, BetBoom defeated Outsiders and obtained entry into the biggest Dota 2 competition of the year. In South America, Hokori pretty much did the same to Infamous, the team heavily favored to win. Not only that, but Hokori also managed to sweep Infamous 3-0.

Hokori may not be that good for fans outside of South America but in the region, they're actually pretty good. They may have been joining a lot of Tier 3 tournaments but they've managed to place first in a lot of them. The team is composed of:

  • Edward "Lumière" Guillen
  • João "4nalog" Giannini
  • Pablo "Vitaly" Angulo
  • Thiago "Thiolicor" Cordeiro
  • Anthony "Gardick" López

Hokori is the third team from South America to join this year's The International after Beastcoast and Thunder Awaken. Meanwhile, Infamous joins Tempest in the Last Chance Qualifier.

Road to TI 2022

As mentioned, Infamous was the team seen winning the qualifiers for South America, and it's evident. From the start until the Upper Bracket Final, Infamous swept opponents 2-0. Hokori was brought down to the Lower Bracket after being defeated by Tempest. That didn't bother them as they worked their way up to the Grand Final, sweeping enemies 2-0 along the way.

Hokori's victory wasn't an easy one. In the first game, Infamous had the lead, but just before the 30-minute mark, Hokori won a team fight that turned things around in their favor. After that, they never looked back and eventually got the victory. The second game was all about Hokori as Infamous couldn't find a way to deal with them.

In the third game, it was Infamous getting kills in the early game. But Hokori once again put things in their favor, turned the tables, and won the match.
