With three days left in the Group Stage, there’s no doubt that matches are going to get more intense in the ongoing Dota 2 EPIC League. So far, it seems that Vikin.gg retained the lead with a standing of 6–1. With two games left on its plate, it seems that the team secures a spot in the Playoffs.

The Journey So Far

Vikin.gg is a relatively new team, established in September 2019. But the team then encountered a surprise when Vladimir "Chappie" Kuzmenko said he would leave the pro scene. This lead to Vikin.gg releasing its then roster and signing a new one.

Since January, the team showed a good performance particularly in Tier 2 and Tier 2 competitions. Its two biggest wins were the BTS Pro Series Season 3 and Dota Summit 13 Online.

In the EPIC League Division 1, Vikin.gg breezed through its first four games beating the likes of Team Liquid (2–1) and sweeping both Team Secret and OG at 2–0. Yet it got demolished by Alliance and didn’t even manage to win one game in their match. It would manage to win its next two games, however, to secure the solo lead in the Group Stage.

Group Stage Almost Done

With three matches left, most of the teams look to have secured spots in the Playoffs. That means the next matches are mainly there for placement. The team standings are:

  • Team Nigma (4–3)

What About Division 2?

In Division 2, the Yellow Submarine continues with an unbeaten record of 7–0. In five of those, YS scored 2–0. There are two days of competition left, so it’s exciting to see which of the three other teams will join Yellow Submarine in the Play-ins.

So who are you rooting for in this tournament?
