The original Doom 64 was released back in 1997 and was exclusive to the Nintendo 64. The game was developed and published by Midway Games. After 23 long years, it is getting a re-release and will launch for PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The re-release version is developed by Nightdive Studios and will hit the stores on March 20. The game will be free for everyone who pre-ordered any edition of Doom Eternal.

It’s not just a re-release of the title, as Doom 64 will also get some brand new levels that haven’t been seen before. "On our end, persistent players will have the opportunity to unlock a new chapter in the Doomguy's saga, taking place shortly after [Doom 64's] original campaign concludes,” senior developer James Haley told US gamer. "The Mother Demon you defeated in that outing had a sister, and since you've been messing up Hell non-stop, she tries to get rid of you by sending you away. If you can make your way back and take revenge, you’ll be rewarded with a bit of lore that fans of both series, new and classic, should enjoy."

Lead Engine Developer Samuel Villarreal claims that the game can easily run at 120 FPS and even works above 1000FPS. That seems fine enough, as I don’t play games that dip below 500 FPS anyway.
