Happy Birthday.
Happy Birthday. Square Enix

Dissidia Final Fantasy Opera Omnia is celebrating its second anniversary and doing it in style. There are special celebratory rewards and limited-time events, along with a global-first character and even new story missions. The celebration lasts until March 2. Today we look at this what's in store for this celebration.

For starters, this month players are introduced to Aranea, the new Global-First Character. Considered as one of the standout characters of Final Fantasy 14, this mercenary wields a lance and is now part of the game. Players can get this character, along with her weapon and armor, beginning February 17. They can also play through her character event stages and use Dissidia Points to buy new stickers that features Aranea. You can learn more about her in the video below:

Here are some of the Anniversary-related events players can take part in:

  • Anniversary Free Draw Campaign
    • Through the campaign period, the first Multi Draw of players are free on ten select banners.
    • For example, players right now can redeem their first two free draws on banners which feature weapons for iconic characters like Sephiroth, Eiko and Layle, along with Auron, Maria and Jecht.
  • Anniversary Login Bonus
    • During the celebration, players can get premium rewards in addition to the usual login bonuses. These include:
      • Artifacts of All Knowledge
      • Power Stones
      • Draw Tickets
  • Anniversary Panel Missions
    • This is another way of getting useful items. Anniversary Panel Missions are available and offer additional rewards including gems, bloom materials, EX Orbs and more.
  • Anniversary Daily Missions and Token Shop
    • For those looking to improve their weapons, players can access extra daily missions. Finishing them rewards Anniversary Tokens that can be exchanged for valuable weapon upgrade materials.

During the entire celebration period, Double Rewards are offered to players. Not only do they get double Cycle Quest rewards, but even double the appearance rate for Kactuars. This means more chances to get additional rewards and EXP. Players can also earn double Radiant Artifact Tokens from World of Illusions quests along with triple the standard daily mission rewards.

On February 12, Dissidia Final Fantasy Opera Omnia is going to add new story quests. Playing these quests gives players the chance to add none other than Final Fantasy 15's Ignis to the game. Seen as one of the most important characters in FF15, Ignis is a level-headed hero that acts as protector, driver, chef, and confidant to Prince Noctis. Not only is he trustworthy and strategic, but his fighting skills guarantee that he is an excellent addition to the roster.

REVIEW SUMMARY
Dissidia Final Fantasy Opera Omnia
8.0
JRPG Lite, Without Aggressive Microtransactions
This is not Final Fantasy All-Stars with a sweeping, epic story: DFFOO definitely feels like a free-to-play mobile RPG, best enjoyed in short bursts. That said, it's a delightful casual distraction you'll want to return to.
  • Huge cast of classic FF characters
  • Engaging, strategic turn-based combat
  • No characters behind paywalls
  • Passive Microtransactions
  • Limited exploration potential
  • Weapon and armor enhancement can be confusing
